Epoch Value of Library and Park - GSAPP Core  II  Spring 2019

critic: Toshihiro Oki, Toshihiro Oki Architect P.C.

This project explores the notion of epoch value in the public library and how it can be part of an architectural vocabulary that is relevant to our evolving society and humanity. This architectural relevance is a search for the defining characters that we humans need for our spaces, digging deep into the primordial realm of our intuition.

The library is experienced as a series of active cores rendered as carved out bars that serve flexible areas on both sides. These elements create contrasts of intimate spaces and served open spaces.
